For the first couple of years, the main products were stairs, railings, ladders, various industrial fabrications, and other typical building components. In 1983 the company started fabricating and supplying materials for the entire Division 5 building project including: structural steel, bar joists, steel deck, miscellaneous metals, etc. At first, many of these projects amounted to less than 20 tons of material. Currently the projects range from a few pieces to more than 1000 tons of material.

In October 1997 the company built and moved into a new facility. The new 38,400 square feet shop building was connected to an existing (built in 1956) branch bank building, which was remodeled to accommodate the company's offices.

We grew from eight employees in 1981 to approximately thirty employees in 1999. Since the year 2000, we have averaged approximately thirty-five employees. Many of our current employees have over twenty years of experience in the steel fabrication business. These thirty-some top-notch team members are the backbone that makes Fort Wayne Structural Products a leading structural fabricator.
